To promote Contact Lens Health Week 2017, the FTC will be a guest on a live Twitter chat hosted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This year’s theme is Healthy habits mean healthy eyes, with an emphasis on encouraging youth to start healthy habits early, for healthy eyes later. The CDC is a federal agency that works to protect public health and safety through the control and prevention of disease, injury, and disability. The CDC and the FTC will share tips about healthy contact lens wear and care habits. The FTC also will share information about your rights under the Contact Lens Rule, including the right to get your prescription from your eye doctor – whether you ask for it or not – at no extra charge.

The chat is scheduled for Tuesday, August 22 at noon EST. You can follow @CDCGOV and @FTC. Join the conversation at #HealthyContactsChat.
